WE NEED YOU!!
Deadline: Tuesday 17th July
Contemporary Art Exchange has teamed up with blind photographers Andrew Follows (Melbourne) and Rosita McKenzie (Edinburgh) on an international collaboration project Through the Looking Glass, Dimly, featuring an exhibition, photography workshops and events for this year’s Edinburgh Art Festival.
We wanted to do something a bit different this year and provide a change in what’s usually on offer during the Edinburgh Art Festival. Through the Looking Glass, Dimly celebrates diversity, equality and inclusiveness and repositions artists often found on the periphery, to the centre of mainstream contemporary art.
We’re calling for volunteers to help us with invigilating the exhibition and helping at the exhibition preview. The exhibition opens at The Old Ambulance Depot, Edinburgh, on Saturday 4th August and runs until Saturday 18th August from 10am-6pm Mon-Fri and 11am-5pm Sunday.
You don’t have to have any experience, but we are looking for people with a passion for art and in engaging with audiences of all abilities. We are unable to provide financial reimbursement but we will provide training, events and exhibition work experience, opportunities to meet the artists, and insight into the development and realisation of a small scale international project.
So if you’re available for a few hours between 4th-18th August and want to be a part of an Edinburgh Art Festival event this year contact kate@contemporaryartexchange.org explaining why you’d like to get involved and what you’re availability is.
